Iran’s FM Zarif Says Danger Of Wahhabism Is ‘The Real Threat’

By

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says projects by the Israeli and Saudi Arabian regimes to portray Iran as a threat to the world have been falling flat over the past years.

Zarif said Tel Aviv and Riyadh, “two like-minded regimes,” are investing heavily in Iranophobia to draw attention away from their crimes and their collaborations.

“It is obvious that the cooperation of the Zionist regime (Israel) and the Saudi regime, which are two like-minded and congruent regimes, has today become known and can no more be concealed,” Zarif said.

He said the two regimes are concerned about their collaboration having become publicly known and are thus “investing further in Iranophobia” as a means of distraction.

He said, however, that, “The world has today waken up to the fact that the danger of Wahhabism is the real threat.”

Wahhabism is an extreme ideological strand openly preached by Saudi Arabian clerics, who have the blessing of ruling Saudi authorities. It is the main ideological feature of Takfiri terrorist groups — particularly Daesh — which declare people of other faiths and beliefs as “infidels” and, based on “decrees” from clerics, rule that they should be killed.

Foreign Minister Zarif also said the deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), succeeded in proving to the world the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program.

Mohammad Javad Zarif has also reiterated the Islamic Republic’s support for Nigeria in its campaign against al-Qaeda and Boko Haram terrorist groups.

He pointed to deep-rooted relations between Tehran and Abuja and said, “Our cooperation is not confined to mutual relations and we cooperate in international bodies and organizations such as OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).”

The top diplomat added that a big trade delegation representing a variety of fields is accompanying him in his West African tour which indicates the keenness of Iranian state and private sectors to improve cooperation between Iran and Nigeria.

Zarif also expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture and noted that many Nigerian students are studying in Iranian universities.

I respect the Foreign minister but it is not accepted in Islam to call others by names. The Minister is also wrong in that world imperialism is the real danger for world peace. World imperialism has created many ways to destroy Muslim countries, starting from the Arab world, then Iran, and now in Syria. The goal of imperialism is to destroy Islam with all its sects in order to expand the domination of Israel. The Minister and others should work very hard to unify the Muslim world. Otherwise, Muslims will be living on reservations similar to the Native Americans who have been skinned and exploited by US imperialism. Wake up Agha.
