Lieberman Slams Palestinian-Palestinian Accord

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday slammed the fresh conciliation accord between the mainstream Palestinian movements, Fatah and Hamas, saying Israel eyed the deal “violation of the red line.”
Lieberman, in remarks broadcast by Israel Radio, said Hamas is viewed as a terrorist organization, not only in the United States and European Union states, but also by the Quartet, tasked with settling the regional conflict.
The Israeli foreign minister is widely viewed as a hawkish Israeli leader with a non-conciliatory attitude vis a vis the Palestinians.
Lieberman claimed that the Palestinian Authority sought to bury the hatchet with Hamas against the background of collapse of a major regional ally, the defunct regime of the ousted Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak.
