Americans Say Romney’s Remark On Russia Provocative – Poll

Most of the Americans have criticized Republican presidential candidate race frontrunner Mitt Romney’s recent statement about Russia, a survey conducted by Chicago Tribune and U.S. News said.
In an interview with CNN earlier this week, Romney said Russia is “number one geopolitical foe,” for the United States and it “lines up with the world’s worst actors” including Syria and Iran.
Seventy two percent of the surveyed said Romney’s remarks could do more damage than U.S. President Barack Obama’s remark about “flexibility” during the meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in Seoul. Twenty eight percent of the surveyed expressed the opposite opinion.
Romney’s comments came after President Obama was caught telling Medvedev on an open microphone that he would have “more flexibility” after his “last election” on the issue of a planned U.S.-led missile shield in Europe.
The criticism of the Republican presidential candidate was echoed by a group of 43 Republican senators, who signed a letter on Tuesday saying they would oppose any attempt to limit U.S. missile defense capabilities.
President Medvedev responded by advising Romney to “to use his head” before making “Hollywood” style statements.
