Bahrain: Obama Nominates New Ambassador

US President Barack Obama announced late Tuesday his intention to nominate Thomas Krajeski as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The White House indicated in a statement that from 2008 to 2009, Krajeski served at the US Embassy in Baghdad as the Senior Advisor to the Ambassador on Northern Iraq Affairs.

Also from 2004 to 2007, Krajeski served as US Ambassador to Yemen.

Krajeski’s previous overseas assignments include Political Advisor to Ambassador L. Paul Bremer at the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, Iraq; Principal Officer and Consul General at the US Consulate in Dubai, UAE; Political Officer at the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt; Deputy Chief of the Consular Section in Warsaw, Poland; Consular Officer in Madras, India; and General Services Officer in Kathmandu, Nepal.

In Washington, Krajeski has previously served as the Director and Deputy Director of the Office of Northern Gulf Affairs in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.
