At least 15 people were killed and near 30 others were wounded in a bomb explosion Friday night in Pakistani Southwestern city, said police.
The incident took place on Karram Khan Road in Quetta, capital of Baluchistan province, near the house of a former federal minister, Naseer Mengal.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Nazir Kurd, told newsmen that a bomb, being planted in a car, exploded with a huge bang. The explosion killed 15 people and wounded about 30 others, he confirmed.
Police cordoned off the area and was conducting investigations. However, no arrests have been made so far.
A spokesman for outlawed Baluch Liberation Army (LBA) group, Mirak Baluch, in a call to Quetta press club claimed responsibility for the attack. Baluch claimed that it was a suicide attack and that the target was Mengal’s house.
