Pakistan: Police Arrest 5 Taliban Militants, Recover Suicide Jackets

Police in Pakistan’s Southern Karachi city Saturday arrested five Taliban militants and seized suicide jackets and other explosive material from their possession.
Mazher Mashwani, Superintendent Police (SP), talking to newsmen said that the militants were arrested in a raid, conducted in Malir area of the city.
He said police also recovered two suicide jackets, 145 kilograms of ammunition, hand-grenades, and 20 rockets from their possession.
The SP said that the militants belonged to Taliban’s Punjabi group. He added that they were wanted in several criminal activities including bank robberies and kidnappings for ransom.
