Syria: Firefights Inside Homs Military Academy
Two blasts were heard overnight from inside the Syrian Military Academy in the city of Homs, residents said on Saturday.
The sound of heavy gunfire was heard and ambulances were seen heading to the compound in the old al-Waer district, two residents told Reuters.
Al-Arabiya TV reported that Syrian soldiers and officers have deserted the Military Academy in Homs.
The TV channel added that Syrian Security forces raided the lawyers’ syndicate in Sweida and assaulted the protesters rallying inside the building. Sweida is the capital of Jabal Al Arab , the Druze stronghold in Syria.
