Football Transfer Rumors: Van Gaal Idle, Benitez Out, Mourinho In?

By

It all seemed set for Jose Mourinho to take over from Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, but a huge curveball has been thrown which could see the Special One return to his former stomping ground.

But the Red Devils do have one major transfer target; plus Sunderland turn to Bayern Munich in a bid for Premier League survival.

It’s all in Rumour Mill

Jose Mourinho has a decision to make if Manchester United don’t get rid of Louis van Gaal quickly. That’s because the former Chelsea manager has been given an alternative job, despite being seemingly set to take over as results at Old Trafford spiral out of control.

And it’s one of his former clubs batting their eyelids at the Special One — with the Mirror reporting Real Madrid have offered Mourinho the job to take over from old foe Rafael Benitez.

With president Florentino Perez keen for Mourinho to have another shot in Spain, despite the infighting and turmoil that came at the end of his reign, the Mirror’s report says agents have been contacted and an offer placed on the table.

The problem is, Mourinho wants the Manchester United job. So he now faces the dilemma of sitting tight and waiting for his chance, or returning to Madrid. Or, this report could be coming from Mourinho’s camp to give the Old Trafford hierarchy a not-so-subtle prod to get a wriggle on and make a move.

But Manchester United are moving in the player market, with Lazio star Felipe Anderson linked to a £45m move to the Premier League.

Italian website Forza Italian Football says the Red Devils are set to launch the big money move, with the Brazilian international Anderson having been watched for quite some time.

And, as the transfer window quickly approaches, so do the rumours of Real Madrid looking to lure David De Gea back to the Spanish capital.

It was the saga of the off-season window, and now the Daily Star says it’s set to start again … in the off-season. Yes, Real will “dig deeper” to get their man, offering £40m at the end of the current season.

And the exodus from the EPL might not stop there, with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas also linked with an escape route back to the continent.

The Daily Mail, via Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, claims Inter Milan and Juventus are eyeing the out of form midfielder, who has been booed by fans following Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
