Arab League chief says to leave office soon

By

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said Friday he would leave office soon.

“I will leave the Arab League in weeks,” Moussa said in a statement to Egyptian TV, but it was not clear whether he would be resigning on background of events in Egypt, or it will be the end of his term.

“What has happened in Egypt is a white revolution marking a development in Egypt’s history,” he said.

During the protests few days ago, Moussa said he was ready to serve Egypt in any position.

The next Arab summit is due in Baghdad, Iraq, late next month.
