Saudi, French Warplanes Crash In Joint Drill

A French Mirage and a Saudi F-15 collided in midair Saturday during joint exercise in Tabuk Region, said the Ministry of Defense.

The accident took place at midday and the Saudi pilot and the two pilots of the French aircraft managed to eject safely, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted a statement by the ministry as saying.

The three pilots have been evacuated to command of the northern military sector of Tabuk Region while the routine drill between the Royal Saudi Air Force and the French Air Force is going on.

The military command started a probe to determine the circumstances of the incident, according to the statement.
