The Israeli anti-missile battery called “Iron Dome” on Sunday intercepted two rockets fired from Gaza Strip towards Tel Aviv, police said. Shortly before, the sirens had sounded for the fourth consecutive day in Tel Aviv, causing a panic in the Israeli metropolis and its environs of Bnei Brak and Ramat HaSharon.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, Hamas’ armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, announced it had fired a Fajr 5 rocket to Tel Aviv. The Iranian-made rocket has a range of 75 km. Projectile debris set fire to a car in Holon, south of Tel Aviv, causing no injuries, police said.

Further south, two people were slightly injured in Ashkelon, near the Gaza Strip after a rocket attack, according to Israeli emergency services. A building was hit hard, said the spokesman of the Police, Micky Rosenfeld.

Tel Aviv has been the target of at least five rockets fired from Gaza since the beginning of the Israeli military operation against the Palestinian territory on Wednesday.

On Thursday and Friday, three rockets had fallen in the Tel Aviv area, including two at sea Saturday .

According to the latest figures from the Israeli army, at least 766 rockets were fired at Israel, including 493 to southern Israel and 273 were intercepted by the “Iron Dome” system.

In the Gaza Strip, one person was killed and four others injured Sunday when an Israeli missile crashed into a refugee camp in the city of Gaza, said hospital sources and witnesses. “We received the body of a martyr who was killed in an Israeli strike on Gaza City, “said a doctor at Shifa Hospital, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that his country is ready to “significantly intensify” the operation in Gaza. His comments came as Palestinian officials claimed earlier Sunday that a possible truce could be put in place throughout the day.
