Robert Reich: Short Note To Bernie Supporters Who Equate Hillary With Trump – OpEd

May I have a word with those of you Bernie supporters who consider Donald Trump to be no worse than Hillary Clinton?

You’re dead wrong.

As I said when I endorsed Bernie for president, I view Hillary as enormously qualified to be president of the political system we now have. She is smart, capable, and experienced. I endorsed Bernie because I thought he would help create the political system we need. But Bernie will not be the Democratic nominee.

This does not mean the end of the movement Bernie advanced. That movement was never about Bernie; it was about reclaiming our democracy and our economy. And that movement will live on, and it will grow. It needs your continuing activism and your tenacity.

You are, of course, entitled to support anyone you wish to. But if you don’t get behind Hillary you increase the odds that Donald Trump will be president.

That would be a disaster for America and the world. Trump is a menace. He is not just unsuited to being the president of the United States – a bigoted narcissist who incites and excuses violence – but his presidency would threaten everything this nation stands for: tolerance, inclusion, freedom of the press, equal justice, and equal opportunity.

A Trump presidency would make it far more difficult ever to achieve the progressive goals you and I share.

Let me give you these facts to show your untruthful statements and that Mr. Trump is not as worse as your friend Secretary Cuyahoga Clinton whose husband, the war criminal Bill Clinton, you served as Labor Secretary. Hilary Clinton is a bigot and chauvinist and she hates Arabs and Muslims and Africans. She has contributed to the killing of more than two million people: 1.5 million Iraqis were killed because she voted for the War in Iraq. She supported her husband when he was bombing Iraq daily, given Iraq did not do any harm to the USA. She has destroyed Syria and Libya and contributed to the killing of more than a half million Arabs because she believes that the killings will empower Israel domination of the Middle East. She has already caused violence in the Middle East by supporting all terrorists under the pretext of the moderate opposition to the Syrian president. Her moderate opposition consists of AL-Nusra front and Daesh, both of them are branches of AL Qaeda and she wants to export terrorism to Russia. She has defended the Israeli destruction of Gaza and has considered the Israeli occupation and killing as self-defense. She has created massacres at par with the Holocaust but this one is for the Arabs. She has supported the Drone killings of women, man, and children in all the Muslim world. She also tries to obliterate Iran by using her bombs, given that Iran has never threatened the USA for the last thirty years or even more. Secretary Clinton will not achieve the progressive goals when she becomes president because she is the protector of the financiers and she has been bought by banks and without banks’ payments for shitty speeches in which she attacks all but the financiers she world have had hard time to survive. The financiers have sucked the blood of the American people, which has kept the economy in a crisis. Finally, she is a racist and against African people as well and called them predators, and there has never been equal justice and opportunity in the country and all official press outlets are transmitters of the imperialist propaganda. I do not think that Mr. Trump will be able to kill the many or more than what your candidate has achieved.
