Hamas – Israel Ceasefire May Be Signed In Next Few Hours

A ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel could be signed within a few hours. This was reported by the TV channel “Al Arabiya”.
Earlier, citing well-informed sources, the TV station broadcast news of an agreement “in principle” on a cease-fire. However, there are still disagreements between the parties on the time frame and the stages of implementing a cease-fire.
Thus, Hamas insists on an immediate cessation of military operations. The Israelis want a ceasefire to unfold in two stages: first, a cease-fire, and then lifting of a blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Almost simultaneously, at a press conference in Cairo Islamist politburo head Khaled Mashaal said that negotiations on peace in the Gaza Strip will continue with Egyptian mediation. “There are chances for achieving a truce, just as there are for further escalation. All options are possible. We are not going to give in to Israeli conditions”, – he stressed.
According to Qatari television channel “Al Jazeera”, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to delay for 24 hours the start of a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, but under condition that Hamas cease rocket attacks, reports ITAR-TASS.
