Pakistan: Demolition Begins Of Bin Laden’s Compound

By

(RFE/RL) — Reports in Pakistan say that authorities have begun demolishing the former compound of Osama bin Laden in the northern town of Abbottabad.

Pakistani TV channel Geo TV says the demolition of the compound began late on February 25.

The compound has been a painful reminder for Pakistan, which was embarrassed by the unilateral U.S. operation that killed the world’s most wanted fugitive in May, 2011.
