Turkey’s Erdogan Slams Netanyahu As ‘Hitler Of Our Time’ Over Gaza War

By

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched a scathing attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, calling him the “Hitler of our time” and accusing him of leading a genocidal war against the Palestinians in Gaza.

Erdogan, who has been a vocal supporter of Hamas and the Palestinian cause, said that Netanyahu’s actions in Gaza were no different from what Hitler did to the Jewish people during the Holocaust.

“Is what Netanyahu doing any less than what Hitler did? It is not. He is the Hitler of our time, who massacres innocent people, women and children, in Gaza with his state terrorism,” Erdogan said in a speech at the parliament.

Erdogan also likened Israel’s attacks on Gaza to the treatment of Jewish people by the Nazis, saying that Israel was running “Nazi camps” in the besieged enclave and violating international law and human rights.

“Israel has turned Gaza into an open-air prison, where it kills, tortures and starves millions of Palestinians. It has bombed hospitals, schools, mosques and churches. It has destroyed the infrastructure and the economy of Gaza. It has imposed a brutal blockade and a collective punishment on the people of Gaza. This is nothing but a crime against humanity,” Erdogan said.

Erdogan urged the international community to take action to stop Israel’s aggression and to hold Netanyahu accountable for his war crimes. He also called for the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region.

“Israel cannot continue to act with impunity and to violate the rights and dignity of the Palestinians. The world must not remain silent and indifferent to this injustice and oppression. The world must stand with the Palestinians and their legitimate struggle for freedom and justice. The world must recognize the Palestinian state and its sovereignty over its lands and holy sites. The world must end the occupation and the colonization of Palestine by Israel,” Erdogan said.
