Zaal Anjaparidze, a freelance political analyst from Tbilisi (Georgia), serves as the director of the CSO Free Citizens. He previously held the position of program coordinator for peace dialogue in the South Caucasus at the International Center on Conflict and Negotiation (www.iccn.ge). Zaal was responsible for coordinating the involvement of civil society organizations, youth groups, and peace journalists from the South Caucasian countries in efforts aimed at conflict prevention and confidence-building. In 2017, he managed an EU-funded project at the Czech non-governmental organization People in Need (www.pin.ge). From 2005 to 2016, Zaal served as a senior program manager for the civil society development program at the Europe Foundation (www.epfound.ge). Between 1994 and 2004, he worked on USAID international projects in Georgia with organizations such as Chemonics International, the Urban Institute, and Barents Group, as well as at the Caucasian Institute for Peace Democracy and Development (www.cippd.org), and he was the editor-in-chief of the weekly publication "GEORGIA TODAY" (www.georgiatoday.ge). Since 1997, Zaal Anjaparidze has been contributing as a Georgian analyst for the Jamestown Foundation (www.jamestown.org). Mr. Anjaparidze extensively writes about significant events and trends in Georgia and the Caucasus for various national, regional, and international publications and think tanks.
