Pakistan, India Exchange List Of Prisoners, Nuclear Installations

Pakistan and India on Sunday exchanged lists of prisoners and nuclear installations and facilities, said Pakistan’s foreign office.

The Governments of Pakistan and India are required to exchange lists of their respective nuclear installations and facilities in accordance with Article II of the Agreement on Prohibition of Attacks Against Nuclear Installations and Facilities between Pakistan and India of December 31, 1988.

In accordance with the aforesaid Agreement, said foreign office in a statement, a list of requisite facilities in Pakistan was given to the Indian High Commission Official at the Foreign Office.

The Indian side, it said, also handed over its list to the Pakistan High Commission Official at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.

The two sides also exchanged list of prisoners in each other’s custody, according to the Agreement on Consular Access signed between Pakistan and India on May 21, 2008.

Consistent with the provisions of this Agreement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed over the list of Indian prisoners in Pakistan to the Indian High Commission Official.

The Indian side also handed over the list of Pakistani prisoners in India to the Pakistan High Commission Official at the Ministry of External Affairs.
