Biden’s Bumper Sticker Moment: Bin Laden Dead, GM Alive – OpEd

By

During a Labor Day campaign rally in Detroit, Michigan, Vice President Joe Biden gave his own answer to the question “are you better off today than four years ago?” Biden yelled: “I’ve got a little bumper sticker for you: Osama bin Laden is dead and GM is alive!”

Ironically, according to Osama bin Laden documents retrieved from his Pakistan hideout, al-Qaeda’s late terrorist icon wrote that Biden is “totally unprepared” for the presidency, and left him off a hit list that included Obama and Gen. David Petraeus.

On the day before the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, Biden mounted his defense of his boss’ national security record after an organization of former Navy SEALs, Delta Force operatives and intelligence called on the Commander in Chief to stop the intelligence leaks emanating from his White House.

The Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund, Inc. also accused Obama of taking too much credit for the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden at the hands of Navy SEAL Team Six in their multi-media blitz.

“I don’t take these folks too seriously,” Obama had said. “One of their members is a ‘birther’ who denies I was born here, despite evidence to the contrary. You’ve got another who was a Tea Party candidate in a recent election.”

The group of men, who possess impressive credentials, said they are a non-partisan group who are launching a media blitz, including television commercial and a 22-minute short film accusing Obama of leaking information to “the enemy” and taking undue credit for the May 2011 bin Laden operation.

“Critics of the group repeat the rantings of the folks in the Obama campaign who are basically a news fabricating organization of the radical left,” said former military intelligence officer and New York police detective Sid Franes.

“You, sir, are trying to take the credit for what the American people have achieved in killing Bin Laden. Your use of the SEALs accomplishment as a campaign slogan is nothing less than despicable. I, as a former Navy SEAL do not accept your taking credit for Osama Bin Laden’s death. The American military accomplished that feat,” former U.S. Navy SEAL team member Benjamin Smith wrote in an email to President Obama.

Fred Rustmann, a former undercover officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, reiterated that the focus on leaks was “not a partisan concern.” He accuses the Obama administration of leaking secrets “to help this guy get re-elected, at the expense of peoples’ lives…. We want to see that they don’t do this again.”

“Obama’s response has been typical of the New Democratic Party: he uses Stalinist-tactics to vilify anyone he perceives as a threat. Such statements [about the former SEALs] are an indication of the lack of respect Obama has for men and women who have served their country and are disenchanted with our low-caliber Commander in Chief. Instead of telling them he understands their concerns about national security, Obama ridicules them,” said former police counterterrorism expert Charles Winscott.

“I’ve been in the military and law enforcement for almost 40-years and I’ve never seen such a sleazy administration,” Winscott added.
