Pakistan: 7 Indicted In Bhutto Murder Case

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court on Saturday indicted two senior police officers and five alleged militants for the 2007 assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
Officials said the two police officers were indicted for failing to provide adequate security to Mrs. Bhutto.
The French news agency reported the five militants were charged with “criminal conspiracy” for bringing a suicide bomber from the tribal belt in the northwest and keeping him in a home in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.
Mrs. Bhutto was killed in a December 27, 2007 gun and bomb attack while campaigning in the city.
All the accused have denied the charges.
In violence Saturday, a suicide bomber blew himself up in a failed attack in the southwestern city of Hazara, on the outskirts of Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province.
Officials said the man was heading toward a local mosque.
