Iran and Syria have signed a MoU on air navigation and transportation in a meeting between Iran Civil Aviation Organization CEO Ali Abedzadeh and his Syrian counterpart Mohammed Iyad Zidane.

According to the agreement, Iran will offer Syria services in the areas of designing flight routes, educating staff, advisory services, projects to inspect and control barriers in the vicinity of airports, Annex-14 training, mapping, navigation service data transfer from the AIS to the AIM, etc., IRNA news agency reported November 4.

It is said that the Syrian official’s trip to Tehran also follows plans to receive consultation on rebuilding Syria’s aviation system, separating governmental and non-governmental areas of activity in civil aviation, and similar objectives.

Last year Iran held training sessions for Syrian civil aviation staff in radar and air traffic control fields.
