The Wall Street Journal has reported that the United States’ Thursday air attack in Yemen aimed at killing the leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
American-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki has survived the drone attack.
The missile missed its target but killed two midlevel al Qaeda members.
The Journal cites Yemeni and U-S officials.
After Osama bin-Laden’s death, there were some reports suggesting Awlaki to become al Qaeda leader.
