Ex-Israeli President In Jail On Rape Charges

Former Israeli president Moshe Katsav started on Wednesday a seven-year term of imprisonment for rape and sexual harassment charges.
A court in Tel Aviv indicted the 66-year-old for charges he incurred when he was minister of tourism in the mid 1990s. His unbecoming behavior affected female employees working in his office.
The court last month turned down his request for an appeal to the charges which he steadfastly denied, citing that he was the target of malicious media campaigns
