WikiLeaks’ Assange Back In Court For Extradition Hearing

(RFE/RL) — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is due back in a London court for the second day of his extradition hearing.
Assange is fighting extradition to Sweden where he faces accusations of sexual assault against two women, which he denies.
On February 7, his lawyers argued that if he was forced to return to Sweden he would not face a fair trial, and could be further extradited to the United States on separate charges related to WikiLeaks’ release of thousands of secret U.S. documents.
The judge’s decision on whether Assange can be extradited is likely to be deferred until later this month.
Assange was arrested in London in December at Sweden’s request, but was released on bail after spending nine days in prison.
