Israel: Strike On Gaza Cemetery Raises Friday Death Toll To 14

In a fresh Israeli attack on Gaza Strip, two Palestinian civilians were killed and 10 other wounded when an Israeli military aircraft launched two separate air strikes on a cemetery in Al-Shajaiya neighborhood, east Gaza city.

According to a local Palestinian radio station, an Israeli aircraft has fired a missile on handful of people who were in the cemetery and when people rushed to take them to hospitals, the aircraft fired a second missile to kill a child and wound six others including rescue team worker.

Palestinian medical sources said that six children were injured in the two strikes and three of the wounded people are in critical conditions.

“Large number tombs were also damaged by the Israeli missiles,” the radio said, adding that this is the second time the Israeli aircrafts target this cemetery.

In response, Palestinian resistance factions fired a number of rockets on the southern Israeli cities.

Israel said that no one was injured by the rockets, but damage was caused to one of the buildings on the kibbutz.

According to Gaza emergency service, today’s deaths raise to 14 the number of Palestinians killed since Thursday, amid the worst fighting since 2009.

About 31 Palestinians have been killed since Israel’s resumption of attacks on the Strip on March 20.
