Morocco: Thousands March For Democracy

Some 7,000 demonstrators marched in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh on Sunday, demanding the authorities to continue democratic reforms, Radio France Internationale (RFI) reported.

Rally participants marched towards the site of the recent deadly blast in Marrakesh, demanding the authorities not to stall democratic reforms due to counter-terrorism measures.

The event was organized by the 20 February Movement, which previously forced King Mohammed VI to announce constitutional reforms.

A bomb ripped through a cafe in the main Jamaa el-Fna square in Marrakesh on April 28, killing 17 people and injuring over 20. Three suspects were arrested on the same day, one of them was claimed to have links to the international terrorist group, al-Qaeda, which denied any involvement in the blast.
