Merkel: EU Not Considering Excluding Greece
By VOR
The EU is not considering the option of excluding Greece from its membership and maintains its position regarding the situation in that country. This statement was made by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
“Agreements with the troika of international money lenders are still valid, and the program of reforms must continue. This is the only way for Greece to attain economic stability,” said Merkel.
On Wednesday, the Greek radical left-wing party SYRIZA failed in its attempts to form a coalition government. This party opposes austerity measures proposed by the EU.
By law, the right to form a government passes over to the left-of-center PASOK party.
