Tsunami Expected To Hit Northern Indonesian In Upcoming Hours

Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a tsunami warning for Sumatra and Sulawesi, North of Indonesia, the Jakarta Post reported on Friday.
In a statement, BMKG, expected a tsunami, triggered by an 8.9-magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Japan today, will hit the country at 6 p.m., local time (two hours away from now).
It cautioned the residents of the coastal areas to be careful and watch for any changes in sea conditions in the upcoming hours. On it part, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) said that Japan’s Tsunami will sweep many pacific coastal parts, including Indonesia, Russia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand and South America.
