Yemen: Over 20 Killed In Sana’a Bombing Attack
At least 22 people were killed in a suicide bombing attack Wednesday at the police academy in Sana’a, Yemen’s capital, officials said. The explosion occurred while police cadets were about to leave school at the end of the day, police said.
Doctors present on site have reported dozens of injuries. Investigators said the attack bears the stamp of Al Qaeda. A security source said the bomber was in a car when he blew himself up in the middle of the-police cadets.
In May, a suicide bombing attack at a rehearsal for a military parade in Sanaa left some 90 dead and over 200 injured. The attack was claimed by al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), considered by the United States as the most dangerous branch of the Islamist network.
