Syria: Three Shot Dead While Fleeing To Lebanon
Syrian forces killed three people and injured several others on Saturday in Tel Kalakh, a town in the Homs region which borders Lebanon, a witness told AFP.
Meanwhile, Lebanese sources said scores of Syrians have crossed into Lebanon fleeing the violence.
The officials said cracks of gunfire in Tel Kalakh could be heard on the Lebanese side of the border. Hundreds of Syrians fled the area in past weeks.
The shooting in Talkalakh comes a day after Syrian security forces opened fire on thousands of protesters, killing at least six people.
Friday’s killings occurred in the southern city of Deraa, the Damascus suburb of Qaboun and the central city of Homs, rights campaigner Razan Zaitouna told the AP.
Another rights campaigner said security police fired at a night demonstration in the eastern town of Mayadeen, eounding four people.
