Kamala For President Now: For A Global American Vision – OpEd
Kennedy and Reagan are examples of an American presidency that sought to unite America in a new common vision of progress. Kamala for President NOW! is the only similar possibility today
Kamala for President NOW is not an option, but a historic necessity for America and in the interest of the whole world. At its roots there is the need to identify new paths of world leadership sterilized in the electoral debate. Needs that can only be resolved constructively if America strives to develop a new concept of planetary leadership. This new concept, between multilarism and exclusiv leadership, can only be elaborated by Kamala if she holds the role of President for three months. This is first and foremost a conceptual problem.
Let’s not be scared by theoretical words. What we call a “concept” is a pragamatic instrument of incalculable importance for human affairs. Humankind progresses, retreats, lives in peace or wars for the confirmation of several concepts. And that is why the “concept” is the creative fact that is impossible to digitize because it is made up of elementary units with a plus unpredictable. And this is one of the reasons why AI can never replace primordial human intelligence. AI, by definition, is a by-product of intelligence . It can bring human desires to the ultimate conclusions, even war desires,but never with inconsistency. What AI lacks is what we may call “non-metaphysical INCONGRUITY”, which is what in politics gives the sense of the movement of History. It is like when inside a perfectly isolated elevator we are not able to perceive motion, the same happens to politicians who live inside a perfectly closed elevator: they cannot see motion.
The Res Pubblica needs new conceptual lifeblood. Think about the date of birth. 509 BC. When this concept was born in one of the seven Roman hills — Paris, Moscow, Beijing, New York did not even exist in the mind of any of the gods that existed in the world, and the Bible was 3 centuries away from being written! Now, in spite of its 2,700 years, this concept of Res Pubblica dominates as a political objective wherever democracy is cared about. But time passes for everyone, and new blood is needed. Even in America.
The Kennedy-Nixon confrontation was between the young world and the old world. The confrontation between Reagan and Mondale was between the values of the traditional America and the new unrealistic one. But in both cases, the perception was that there were values and principles shared by all candidates. No “Kennedyan” ever thought that Nixon (that Nixon of that competition, not the next one) was against America, no “Mondelian” thought that Reagan was against America. The case Biden vs Trump is totally different. Each one thinks of the other as an enemy of America. It is a clash from which a pepetual division emerges. It is clear that the victory of one of the two will only dramatize the differences, making them completely incompatible,and instead capable of producing hatred. But America does not need opposing hatreds, it needs compatible solutions.
Kamala President NOW! can do it — Three months are not enough to solve the problems of the Res Pubblica America, with only one exception. The presidential candidate program can be reworked to transform the uncontrolled total confrontation into a broader and more comprehensive American vision. America does not need opposing hatreds.
In the case mutual hatred can be avoided, to “Kamala for President NOW!” American voters would be grateful, and also people of other countries.
