Under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Morocco has risen to prominence as a formidable African power. A recent documentary explores the swift and transformative path the King has charted for Morocco, describing him as the “pilot of the economy” who has driven the nation’s advancement with relentless determination.
Today, Morocco ranks as the fifth-largest economy in Africa, with a GDP exceeding $140 billion. The past two decades have seen Morocco undergo a sweeping infrastructural transformation, with projects such as the Tanger Med Port, one of the world’s ten largest ports, alongside extensive development of highways, railways, and air networks. Furthermore, Morocco has established itself as a leader in renewable energy, signaling a commitment to sustainable growth.
“Economy first” seems to be the guiding principle for King Mohammed VI as he cultivates an environment conducive to business and investment. Chakib Alj, president of Morocco’s General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, underscores the significance of the nation’s free trade agreements with over 50 countries. These agreements have positioned Morocco as a unique gateway for trade and investment, enhancing its role as a business hub and a bridge between Africa and the world.

Africa is my continent, my home… I am finally home and reconnecting with you all with great joy.”
