Ahmadinejad: Global Powers Must Respect Iranian Nation – OpEd

By

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says bully powers must redeem themselves and it is in their interest to recognize the Iranian nation’s grandeur and rights.

“They have no choice but to negotiate and cooperate with the Iranian nation and it is in their interest to recognize the dignity, grandeur and rights of Iranians,” said President Ahmadinejad.

He criticized certain Western countries which expressed their policies towards Iran in a selfish and impudent manner and added that Iranians are the freest nation in history and have always sought to bring peace and justice.

“The founders of terrorism and assassination in the world are, today, accusing a great nation …and accuse the Iranian nation of [spreading] terrorism and aggression, he added.

Ahmadinejad urged global bullies to redeem themselves and respect the Iranian nation.

He added that the future of the region belongs to its nations, warning that bullies would have no place in this future due to their deceitful ways.

Iran’s President has cautioned against plots hatched by hegemonic powers to establish a bipolar world, reiterating that they intend to maintain domination over other countries.

Independent countries should resist against arrogant powers and help each other in making progress. They should work towards improving the welfare of their nations, said President Ahmadinejad.

Hegemonic powers have always sought to sow discord among nations and countries. Otherwise, they will not be able to loot national assets of other countries and control major international bodies, he said.

The Iranian President also said that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia play an important and effective role in international relations.

He praised “excellent and growing” relations between Tehran and Moscow, and noted that certain bullying countries are worried that Iran and Russia may be obstacles in front of them.

President Ahmadinejad highlighted the necessity for having a strategic outlook in promoting relations between the two states, calling for expansion of bilateral ties in all spheres.

He also appreciated Russia’s stance in the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors and the UN General Assembly against the US and its allies.

Iran’s President has once again lashed out at the latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program, describing it as illegal and politically-motivated.

“We are not worried about IAEA’s positions against us. The agency’s report does not have any legal value. The director general of this agency knows that it is a political report,” Ahmadinejad said.

President Ahmadinejad also made reference to the recent violation of Iranian airspace by a US reconnaissance drone that was brought down with minimal damage by Iranian air defense units.

“Iranian experts are capable of controlling the US spy drone and will definitely analyze its system,” the Iranian chief executive pointed out.

Your article contained an error within the first four words. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not the President of Iran. He lost the 2009 election to Mir-Hossein Mousavi but retained power through fraud and violence.

His country is far from free. And his foreign policy, alongside that of North Korea, is the greatest threat to world peace today.
