Iran: One protester killed in Hafte Tir, another shot near Parkway Bridge

Protesters in Tehran’s Vanak square captured a van belonging to Iran’s security forces and released the detainees held inside the vehicle.

Eyewitnesses have told the Green Voice of Freedom that protesters in Vanak square freed demonstrators captured earlier by security forces.

Also, close to the important Parkway bridge in Tehran, a GVF correspondent reported that a protester was shot, but there’s not further information about the person’s fate at the moment.

Both Vanak and Parkway were closed to Jamejam (on Vali-Asr street) where Iran’s sate broadcaster (IRIB) is located.

There are also unconfirmed reports regarding the death of a protester in Hafte Tir square near the former American Embassy in Tehran.

Sunday’s protests are in response to calls by the Coordination Council of the Green Path of Hope to commemorate Mohammad Mokhtari and Sane Zhaleh, two slain protesters shot dead by security forces during demonstrations held on 14 February in support of the Tunisian and Egyptian uprisings.
