Belarus: President Vows To Destroy Opposition To His Rule
By VOA
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko says he would destroy any group, or “fifth column,” that opposes his rule.
During his annual state of the nation address Thursday, Mr. Lukashenko said that does not make him a dictator.
He said excessive democracy in Belarus played a large role in the recent Minsk subway bombing that killed 12 people and wounded 204.
Police have made three arrests related to the attack.
