EU Agrees To Give Greece Another 109 Billion Euro Bailout

By

Leaders of the 17-member Eurozone Thursday night agreed on a deal that will grant Greece a massive new bailout.

The eurozone countries and the International Monetary Fund will give Greece a second bailout worth 109 billion euro, on top of the 110 billion euro already granted a year ago.

“We agree to support a new programme for Greece and, together with the IMF and the voluntary contribution of the private sector, to fully cover the financing gap. The total official financing will amount to an estimated 109 billion euro,” said the leaders in a statement after their one-day summit.
