Trump Ask Justice Dept To Investigate Intelligence Leaks

US President Donald Trump said Thursday that he is requesting the Department of Justice to investigate possible intelligence leaks coming out of government agencies regarding the Manchester terrorist bombing, and the possible prosecution of those involved in such activities.

“The alleged leaks coming out of government agencies are deeply troubling. These leaks have been going on for a long time and my Administration will get to the bottom of this,” said Trump.

Trump stressed that the leaks of sensitive information pose a grave threat to the US’ national security.

“I am asking the Department of Justice and other relevant agencies to launch a complete review of this matter, and if appropriate, the culprit should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Trump said, adding that, “There is no relationship we cherish more than the Special Relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.”

The UK has expressed outrage that various media outlets cited published details of the Manchester bombing while citing unnamed US intelligence officials.
