Ahmadinejad: Iran Will Overcome Sanctions

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday slammed the EU decision to ban Iranian oil imports, saying “History shows that Iran will cross this barrier.” He was speaking while opening 14 projects in the Kerman region.

“Once our trade with the Europe was around 90 percent but now it has reached 10 percent and we are not seeking this 10 percent…,” Ahmadinejad said.

“For the past 30 years, the Americans have not been buying oil from us. Our central bank has no relations with you,” he added.

The Iranian leader noted that his country is ready to sit down with world powers for talks on its nuclear program. “You’re an enemy of Iran, because Iran has decided to advance,” he stated. According to Ahmadinejad, the best way to deal with Iran is through friendship “because the era of bullying and making noise in the world is over.”
