Iran’s Foreign Debt Shrinks 25%

The Central Bank of Iran’s statistics show the country’s balance of foreign at the end of Iranian month of Bahman (February 2023) stood at about $6.4 billion, showing a 25.7 percent drop as compared to the end of the month of Esfand a year earlier (March 21, 2022). 

Of Iran’s total foreign debt, $1.8 billion is related to short-term debts while $4.6 billion are long-term debts.

The share of short-term debts of the country out of the total of its foreign debts has decreased 0.8 percent at the end of the Iranian month of Bahman (February 19) as compared to the end of the Iranian month of Esfand in the previous year.
