Kuwait Cabinet Submits Resignation
Kuwait’s cabinet submitted its resignation on Thursday in order to avoid parliament questioning, parliamentary sources said.
According to Reuters, legislators had asked to question three ministers, all members of the ruling al-Sabah family.
“The ministers submitted the resignation to the prime minister, who will refer it to the emir,” a parliamentary source told Reuters.
Sources said on Wednesday they expected the country leader, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah will reappoint Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser al-Mohammad al-Sabah to form another cabinet.
Meanwhile, the foreign minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Mohammad al-Sabah, said on Thursday that his country had decided to expel Iranian diplomats who “were involved in an espionage case.” This came two days after three people involved in this case were sentenced to death.
The Kuwaiti minister said: “There will be action against a group of Iranian diplomats…these people are unwelcome and must be expelled from Kuwait.”
