Ayatollah Khamenei Urges Countering Plots To Foment Insecurity In Iraq, Lebanon

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called on people of Iraq and Lebanon to make remedying the insecurity the priority and pursue their legitimate demands within the framework of law.

“I recommend those who care in Iraq and Lebanon remedy the insecurity and turmoil created in their countries by the US, the Zionist regime, some western countries, and the money of some reactionary countries,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a speech at the joint graduation, inauguration, and epaulette granting ceremony for cadets of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army Academies, held on Wednesday.

Referring to the recent developments in Iraq and Lebanon, Ayatollah Khamenei warned, “The biggest damage that enemies can inflict on a country is to deprive them of security, as they have started to do today in some countries in the region.”

“The people have justifiable demands, but they should know their demands can only be fulfilled within the legal structure and framework (of their country). When the legal structure is disrupted in a country, no action can be carried out,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, according to Khamenei.ir.

“The enemies engaged in the same plots against Iran; but fortunately, people acted in a timely manner, and the sedition was nullified,” the Leader stressed.

Ayatollah Khamenei further referred to the Israeli defeat by the Islamic resistance and said, “Who imagined the Zionist Regime – which couldn’t be defeated by three Arab countries in 6 days – would be forced to retreat by the devout youth during the 33-day Lebanon War and the 22-day Gaza War? Be sure that God surely fulfils His promises,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.

“The Great March of Return will lead to the return of the Palestinians one day, and the true owners of the land will return to it. Despite their heavy expenses, the Arrogant Powers have been defeated so far. They admitted themselves that they spent $7 trillion but didn’t gain anything,” the Leader went on to say.

The remarks came after Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri resigned his post in the wake of around two weeks of anti-government protests and growing anger over official corruption, poor public services and years of economic mismanagement.

In Iraq, more than 230 people have been killed in public anti-government protests this month.

The two political systems in Lebanon and Iraq are corrupted and based on division. Sectarianism is the basic rule. Both systems are imposed on the people of the two countries by foreign occupiers. France imposed the system and its constitution on Lebanon and US imperialism imposed the Bremer’s constitution on Iraq. For example, Bremer did not impose a constitution and democracy and politics as that of the USA but he imposed a strange system totally dependent to foreign powers for dictating the country.
Both political systems have been created some classes dealing with finance and financial tricks to become rich. And both systems have created economic dependencies to world imperialist economy. Both countries have disintegrated their industries, agriculture, services, infrastructure, technologies to become essentially useless economies unable to create jobs and income and to provide the necessary services in health and education. Inequality gap is huge and people have been suffering.
Iran has a better system than those two systems. In fact, Iran’s economy, given all sanctions since 1979, has been able to produce industrial commodities and farm products, more than 90 percent of the people’s need are satisfied domestically. Iran has army loaded with weapons made domestically with very high technological advances. It is impossible to compare Iran’s economy against the economics of Lebanon and Iraq. It is also true that Iran enjoys independent political decisions, an independence that is totally different than the systems in Iraq and Lebanon.
People are rising in these countries because they have been complaining about unemployment, low income, inequality, bad social services, and sectarianism for long time but most politicians do not care. In fact, these demands were totally ignored, because the political process is stinking. It follows that people have to deliver their messages loud and clear. Both are rising against their systems. In Iraq, the US imposed system, more than ten thousand people are injured and killed by snipers with black dress and masks. This figure does not include those who have been missing.
I do not share the statement of Ayat Allah from Iran because people are rising for needs and want basic changes. Both are revolutions and I expect that many forces reactionary and imperialists will interfere to obtain shares in these revolutions or to guide the revolutions with their goals. But I think people know and will be able to isolate those who have brought calamity to their countries from those who want basic changes for the better.
