Sri Lanka’s Rajapaksa Travels To India For Cricket Final

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa left for India earlier Friday to attend the Saturday’s World Cup final between Sri Lanka and India to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, according to a statement from the government.

President Rajapaksa and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, as well as other high level VIPs of both countries are expected to attend the Saturday’s World Cup final.

Sri Lanka was ICC World Cup champions in 1996.

The summit clash on Saturday would be the first-ever all-Asia final in the history of the tournament.
