Greece’s new coalition government led by Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has won a vote of confidence in parliament, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported on Monday.

The coalition, which consists of three parties – right-of-center New Democracy led by Samaras, left-of-center PASOK and leftist DIMAR, was backed by all 179 deputies from the three parties.

The government has pledged to fulfill commitments made to the European Union and the International Monetary Fund but to seek a break from austerity from the creditors at new talks with them.
