China: Gang Of 46 Pregnant Robbers Busted
Police in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou have uncovered a gang consisting of 46 pregnant robbers, the China Daily reported on Wednesday.
The women, aged between 20 and 40, committed more than 400 thefts a month in the city, the paper said.
The women said they repeatedly got pregnant because police will not usually arrest pregnant or breastfeeding women. One of the gang’s members even got pregnant eight times in 10 years.
Since the gang was uncovered and its members arrested, the number of robberies in the city has decreased significantly, a police report said.
