Syria To Air “Confessions” By Defector, Israeli Spy

By

Syria’s state news agency SANA said Thursday it would air during the weekend confessions by what it claimed was an Israeli spy who was part of the assassination operation of senior Hizbullah military commander Imad Mughniyeh in 2008.

Without identifying the alleged Israeli spy, SANA said the man would “reveal some of the details of the conspiracy against Syria, how he facilitated the assassination of Imad Mughniyeh, and how spies are working to sow sedition, assassinate resistance figures and cause chaos.”

Lieutenant colonel Hussein al-Harmoush appeared in a YouTube video in June to announce his deflection from the Syrian Army and the establishment of “Syria Free Army.” Al-Harmoush has been arrested at the Syrian northern city of Idlib along with a number of wanted Syrians, al-Watan newspaper reported. However, other sources claim he was handed over to the Syrian authorities by Turkey.
