Belarus Blocks Russia’s Top Social Network

The Russian-language social network VKontakte has been blocked in Belarus, the website Tut.by reported on Wednesday.

VKontakte is used by groups organizing protests in Belarus. The blocking took place several hours before the start of a next opposition rally the Revolution through Social Networks.

Opposition rallies are held every week on Wednesdays in Minsk and other large cities throughout Belarus.
