US officials have arrested a man for plotting to detonate what he thought was a massive bomb in front of the Federal Reserve building in New York.
FBI says suspect Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, of Bangladesh, traveled to U.S. in January 2012 for purpose of conducting attack on U.S. soil. Nafis was arrested after he allegedly attempted to detonate what he thought was a 454kg bomb.

He had engaged with undercover officers working for both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New York Police Department, and local network NBC 4 says the public was never at risk. Authorities arrested him early Wednesday and he will go before a court later in the day.
Nafis is charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and attempting to provide material support to al-Qaeda.
