Israel: Ex-President Katsav Freed For 7 Hours To Attend Son’s Wedding

Jailed former Israeli president Moshe Katsav convicted of raping a former female employee was freed for seven hours to attend his son’s wedding, Kol Israel radio station reported.

The most titled in the history of the country prisoner has been in jail for five and a half months and will have to return to Maasiyahu Prison in the city of Ramle by midnight.

Katsav was granted a seven-hour leave after he was examined by a psychiatrist and was found not dangerous.

The former head of state was sentenced to seven years in prison on charges over raping two of his subordinates, sexual harassment, indecent behavior and attempts to interfere with the investigation. Katsav, 66, insists on his innocence and calls himself a victim of political witch hunt.
