Petrobras Surpasses Projections, Registers Record Production In 2025

Petrobras’ oil production reached 2.40 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2025, an 11 percent increase compared to the previous year, the company said.

The result exceeded the upper limit of the target (+4%) established in the 2025-2029 Business Plan by 0.5 percentage points (p.p.).

When considering total oil and natural gas production, the result exceeded the upper limit of the target (+4%) by 2.8 percentage points, reaching 2.99 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), representing an 11 percent increase compared to 2024 production.

Commercial oil and natural gas production reached 2.62 million boed, exceeding the upper limit of the projected target (+4%) by 0.9 percentage points.

Pre-salt layer

The company also set new annual records in the pre-salt layer: total own production reached 2.45 million boed, and associated production reached 3.70 million boed. Production in the pre-salt layer accounts for 82 percent of Petrobras’ total output.
