A group of Russians has crossed the Bering Strait from Russia to Alaska on jet skis, covering a total of 500 kilometers (300 miles), a spokesman for Chukotka’s government said on Monday.

“A team of adventurers…comprising five people left Providence Bay [in Russia’s Chukotka] on July 29 and has successfully reached Wales, Alaska, on jet skis, making it the first trip of that kind performed by Russians,” the spokesman said.
