Lindsay Lohan Arrested, Yet Again

American actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested early Thursday after a fight with another woman at a nightclub in New York City, police said.

The 26-year-old movie star reportedly struck the woman in the face with her hand and spat on her at Club Avenue, a Manhattan hot spot she was temporarily banned from several years ago.

Lohan was arrested around 4 a.m., transported to a police station for processing and charged with third-degree assault. She has been released from custody but will have to appear in court at a later date, police told RIA Novosti.

It marks the third straight month the struggling star has encountered trouble with law enforcement officers.

In a recent television interview, Lohan admitted she had problems.

“I kind of am still a kid, in a way,” she said in a televised interview with talk show host Jay Leno last week.

“You get caught up in everything, and it’s important to kind of find yourself and keep yourself through that,” she said.

Lohan has been reportedly stunned by the sharp, sometimes taunting and mean-spirited criticism over her starring role as Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor in the television movie Liz & Dick, which premiered earlier this week.

“Lindsay is devastated by the response to the film,” a close friend told The Huffington Post.

“She has got used to all the negative press around her personal life but this is the first time she has experienced it about her work. No matter how bad things were going for her personally, everyone would always agree that she was a great actress.”

Lohan – who is on probation for stealing a necklace from a jewelry store last year – was accused of assaulting a man at a New York hotel in September, and later that month of clipping another man outside a nightclub with her car. Charges were dropped in both cases.

In October a fight with her mother led to a police investigation but no charges.

The terms of her probation mean she could be sent to jail for another arrest.

Lohan was a child model and movie star in the United States, and became famous over such films as The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and Mean Girls. She has been arrested multiple times over drug and alcohol violations as well as public fighting and several driving incidents.
